2. How We Fit In: Controller vs. Processor
When your organization uses HoneybeeBase:
- Your organization (the Client) is the data controller for information entered into the Platform.
- HoneybeeBase is a data processor acting on the Client’s lawful instructions.
For information HoneybeeBase collects directly (e.g., website visitors, billing contacts, marketing subscribers), HoneybeeBase is the data controller.
3. Information We Collect

- Employment-related data (availability, hours worked, schedule)
- Support inquiries, feedback, and billing information (for Client admins)

- Geolocation (if enabled by the Client)

C. Information from Third Parties
- Payroll/accounting integrations (e.g., QuickBooks, Gusto)

4. How We Use Information

We retain data as long as necessary to provide the Platform, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Afterward, data is deleted, anonymized, or aggregated. Clients may request deletion upon termination, subject to legal requirements.

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 14. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
13. U.S. Data Location & International Transfers
HoneybeeBase is based in the United States, and all data is processed and stored in the U.S. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you consent to U.S. processing, which may not provide equivalent protections. The Platform is intended only for U.S. users and Clients.

15. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, access, delete, and opt out of certain uses of their personal information and not be discriminated against for exercising rights. HoneybeeBase does not sell or rent personal information. Submit requests to support@honeybeebase.com.
16. Nevada Residents
We do not sell personal information. Nevada residents may opt out of any potential future sale by emailing support@honeybeebase.com with the subject “Nevada Opt Out.”
17. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach, we will investigate promptly, notify affected Clients or individuals without undue delay (within legally required timeframes), and provide information on mitigation and remediation.

We may update this Policy periodically. We will update the “Last Updated” date and post the revised version. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., email or in-app banner). Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
